Hilda and the Troll Hilda and the Midnight Giant Hilda and the Bird Parade Hilda and the Black Hound Hilda and the Stone Forest By Luke Pearson Published by Flying Eye Books Age Range: 6 – 10 Years

Sea spirits, giants, weird woodmen and trolls; Hilda’s outings never quite fall into the realm of the ordinary. The Eisner-Award nominated graphic novels series follows the journeys of a fearless blue-haired girl as she meets mysterious creatures near her home in a vast magical wilderness and in the bustling city of Trolberg. But of course, as Hilda so adeptly points out: “such is the life of an adventurer.”

THE CREEPY CREATOR

Luke Pearson’s Hildafolk Series started as a single issue comic that has expanded into fives volumes of Scandinavian inspired, critically acclaimed graphic novels for children for the artistically daring publisher Nobrow and its dedicated children’s imprint, Flying Eye Books as well as an upcoming original animated series for Netflix in 2018. Mr. Pearson s notoriety with the Hilda series and his other comics have led him to storyboard episodes of Adventure Time, as well as illustration assignments for such prestigious outlets as The New York Times, The New Yorker and the New Republic. He lives in the United Kingdom, where he is currently working on the next Hilda story, the television series, and finding a way to get some sleep.”
